About mimimomo...

"mimimomo"  comes from a Cantonese "咪咪摸摸" expression meaning "moving slowly, dawdling and unhurried." In everyday Cantonese, the phrase is not always used positively - It can describe someone working inefficient. But I want to reclaim this idea through ceramics: taking time. It becomes a gentle reminder to move at a calmer pace and allow things to unfold naturally.

In ceramics, this philosophy becomes part of the making process. Clay cannot be rushed - from wedging the clay, to throwing on the wheel, trimming each form, waiting to slowly dry and glazing, every step unfolds in its own time. 

​

Pieces of mimimomo meant to live quietly in everyday routines - holding small dishes, tea, flower or simply bringing a sense of ease to the table.

Beyond objects for daily use, clay also becomes a space for storytelling - where forms grow freely, and sculpture carries stories, moods, and quiet reflections.
